Chinese New Year

Starting on the 28th of January until the 29th ''Chinese New Year'' is the most important event in the Chinese calendar, and celebrated in many country's all over the world.

Being in Singapore during this event will make your stay definitely an experience never to be forgotten with all the pre-preparation and excitement in the air felt throughout the island. It is also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, and you will see a lot of red in the shops with people also wearing red in color. Red symbolizes fire, which is to be believed protecting against bad luck.

Visit the River Hongbao at night or visit the ''Chinatown Chinese New Year Countdown Party'' starting from 09.30pm. Have a stroll around Chinatown (if you don’t mind a bit of a crowd), and experience the atmosphere with all shops decorated in red selling special gifts and sweet treats.
